It has been reported that Wade Redden inked a 1 year, $800,000, contract with the St. Louis Blues. Seeing how his career spiraled out of control when the New York Rangers offered him that ridiculously long and expensive contract in 2010, it's nice to see him get another shot. The Blues look like they're contending this year (they already played the part last year) and adding a veteran D who was once considered one of the best at his position and whose spent the last two seasons riding buses to games is a nice addition to an already balanced team. Good for him.
As for Scott Gomez, Pierre LeBrun reports that Scott Gomez will probably be signed in the next few days...if not hours. Since he is not being paid like a superstar anymore (one that he never really was), and since he realizes this will probably be his last shot at proving he's still too good for the

Carolina Hurricanes
- Through his moves over the summer, GM Rutherford has pretty much let the fanbase know that the organization is sick of playing it safe with homegrown talent and low-cost underrated free agents. I could see him giving Gomez a chance. Probably the most likely place I believe he would end up.
New Jersey Devils
- Now wouldn't this be a nice little reunion, eh? Lou and Scotty making up and once again joining forces
Anaheim Ducks
- This would be a great pick-up by the Ducks, to be brutally honest. But for some reason, I feel like Gomez would prefer to stay in the East. I'll leave it at that.
San Jose Sharks
- Well...go back and reread the Ducks part. But, I still think its more likely he'd go here to play a 3rd line role. Better cup chances. Not much pressure. But like I said, Gomez is staying in the East...I think.
Now where would I like to see him go?
Why to the Toronto Maple Leafs or NY Islanders of course...yea, I said it. Make us laugh conference dwellers!
